New Works of 2020-2021!
The COVID-19 pandemic has turned life into a tumultuous journey for all of humanity.
May 2020: What a rollercoaster of emotions! With things rapidly changing in our lives as well as in the environment, I wrote a solo piano piece called Between The Phases, to represent the wide range of transitions and emotional stages that everyone can relate to during this difficult and unprecedented time.
September 2020: Quarantine has also allowed for a lot of time to read, too! Inspired by the mystical, demonic tom-cat Behemoth in the epic piece of Russian literature The Master and Margarita, I wrote a character piece capturing the essence of this witty member of the Devil's entourage.
TWO NEW PIANO ARRANGEMENTS (on SoundCloud!)
- May 2020: QuaROCKtine: 16 songs in 16 minutes (play)
- June 2020: The Beatles 20(20) (play)
April 2021: As part of the ComposersXPianists initiative for Harvard University's ARTS FIRST Concert, I wrote a piano solo called Ethereal, (piano score here) which blends classical and jazz elements in a reflective, emotional ballade. Performed by classical pianist Elizabeth Li (Harvard '24).
Harvard University First Year Musical
November 2020 - April 2021: The First Year Musical is an original musical written, composed, performed, directed, and staged by Harvard first years. This past year, the Harvard freshmen involved in the First Year Musical have been hard at work to create and showcase this incredible musical, debuting as a musical movie on YouTube due to COVID-19 pandemic circumstances preventing live performances in the theater. The original musical, The Fortunates, can be found on YouTube, and you learn more about the production HERE!
Annika Huprikar + Eddie Raj (Harvard '25) composed the music for the show!! The album is released on Spotify!
